In the early ’20s the Government of Buenos Aires started to build the new Costanera Norte. It was decided to extend the Palermo Woods’ area and connect the region of Puerto Nuevo to Avenida General Paz.

1. PARQUE DE LA MEMORIA

It is located on the Costanera Norte near the University City (ciudad universitaria). It is a space dedicated to honoring the disappeared during the last military dictatorship in Argentina during 1976.

This great park covers 14 hectares and is located approximately 300 meters from Aeroparque Jorge Newberry. (Airport)

2. GOURMET AREA (CARRITOS DE LA COSTANERA)

In the gastronomic region of Costanera Norte you will find the famous “Carritos de la Costanera”. These are some nice vans that sell all kinds of food. They offer elaborated meals made from delicious Argentinian meat.

3. PARQUE DE LAS AMÉRICAS

It is located at Av. Costanera and La Pampa. This fantastic park has over 8 acres with trails for bikes, rollers or skates.

Admission to the park is free.

4. JORGE NEWBERY AIRPORT

Along with the Ezeiza airport, Jorge Newberry is one of the international airports in Buenos Aires.

The airport has high level services. Next to the airport you will find the Aviation Museum where is exhibit the history and development of aviation in Argentina.

5. CLUB DE PESCADORES (FISHING CLUB)

This traditional fishing club from the city of Buenos Aires is located in Costanera Norte in the neighborhood of Palermo.

The Fishermen’s Club of Buenos Aires, born in early 1903 on the initiative of a group of fishermen in the area. Today the Club has 4 offices in different regions of Argentina.

6. PUERTO NUEVO

The end of the tour of the Costanera Norte of Buenos Aires is the Puerto Nuevo. A beautiful place to spend a few hours contemplating the calm waters of the Río de la Plata with a romantic sunset.
